Answers Before You Install

01

General

What is Evoxup Membership?

Evoxup is a WordPress-native platform for connecting membership, licensing, products, entitlements and commerce workflows. Its purpose is to keep your access architecture stable even when the commerce provider changes.

Do I need WooCommerce?

No. WooCommerce is an integration option, not a requirement. Evoxup can also process verified purchases from external providers through supported webhooks, APIs and provider profiles.

Is Evoxup tied to one payment or commerce provider?

No. Evoxup is designed around a provider-neutral internal product model, so external providers connect to Evoxup instead of defining its core membership and licensing architecture.

Can I start with the free version?

Yes. The free version provides a working foundation so you can build and evaluate your Evoxup workflow before adding commercial capabilities.

02

Membership & Products

How are products and memberships related?

EVO Product acts as the central commercial identity. Products can be connected to membership plans so a verified purchase grants the correct membership and entitlements.

Can one product belong to more than one membership plan?

Yes. Product-to-plan relationships can support multiple plan associations and bundles rather than forcing every product into a single plan.

Does simply registering a WordPress account grant premium access?

No. Registration alone does not mean the customer owns a premium product, membership or license. Access depends on the entitlement created by the configured purchase, membership or administrator-issued workflow.

Can an administrator issue a license to an existing member?

Yes. An administrator can issue a license through the licensing workflow. The resulting access follows the license and membership policy configured by the site.

03

Licensing

Can one purchase grant both membership and a license?

Yes. When the product workflow is configured for both, one verified purchase can participate in membership fulfillment and licensing.

Does every valid license unlock every package?

No. A license can be valid while still lacking entitlement to a particular protected package or service. License validity and package entitlement are separate decisions.

Can FREE packages still work if a stored premium key is invalid or stopped?

Yes. FREE or public package access remains independent from a stored premium credential, while protected packages continue to require the correct entitlement.

Can administrator-issued member licenses continue to work with member + license access?

Yes. Administrator-issued licenses linked to eligible members can continue to follow the site's existing member + license access policy. Cloud entitlement is evaluated separately when a Cloud Service requires it.

04

Commerce & Integrations

Can I connect a provider that is not listed?

Yes. Ready-made profiles simplify supported providers, while the universal integration model can be used for other platforms through their supported webhook or API capabilities.

Does every provider need a signed webhook?

No. Evoxup should follow the security mechanism actually offered by each provider, such as HMAC signatures, authenticated API verification or another supported policy.

What is Product Mapping?

Product Mapping decides where an external provider product routes inside Evoxup — for example to the correct EVO Product, membership plan or supported internal target.

What is Product Sync?

Product Sync refreshes supported provider metadata such as name, status, price, purchase URL or variants without replacing the internal fulfillment mapping.

Are Product Mapping and Product Sync the same?

No. Mapping controls business routing. Sync keeps external product information current. Keeping them separate prevents metadata updates from silently changing fulfillment rules.

05

Cloud Services

What is an Evoxup Cloud Service?

A Cloud Service is functionality designed to run through Evoxup's server-side Cloud architecture instead of installing the service's proprietary PHP application code directly on the customer site.

Does a PRO or SUPER STAR key automatically grant Cloud access?

Not automatically. Cloud access is evaluated against the specific Cloud product, membership or bundle entitlement required by the service.

Can simply being a registered member unlock Cloud?

No. Cloud requires an explicit entitlement. A customer may receive that entitlement from a Cloud product, a Cloud-enabled membership, or a bundle that includes the required Cloud product.

What is the Evoxup Cloud Agent?

The Cloud Agent is a lightweight local WordPress component that securely connects the site to eligible Evoxup Cloud Services. It is a bridge for Cloud communication, not the Cloud service itself.

Is the Cloud Agent itself a Cloud service?

No. The Agent is installed locally as an official WordPress package so the site can establish a secure connection before any Cloud Service is activated.

Does a Cloud Service install its proprietary server code on my WordPress site?

No. The Cloud model keeps server-side Cloud service code in the Evoxup service environment. Only the required local bridge and approved client-side integration are present on the customer site.

How is Cloud access checked?

The site requests access from the Repository, which verifies entitlement through the Membership authority and, when allowed, issues a short-lived signed grant for the Cloud Service.

06

Updates, Marketplace & Repository

Where do Evoxup package updates come from?

Evoxup can use its own Repository update channel for official packages. The Update Manager handles supported installation, verification, update, recovery and rollback workflows.

Does the Repository rebuild my uploaded ZIP before distributing it?

For Local ZIP and Core update packages, the intended model is to inspect, hash, sign and store the uploaded archive without rebuilding its contents.

What does Marketplace do?

Marketplace is the presentation and orchestration layer for discovering Evoxup packages and services. File installation and update execution are delegated to the Update Manager.

Are Cloud Services installed like normal plugins?

No. Cloud Services are activated through the Cloud workflow. If the local Cloud Agent is required and missing, the Agent itself can be installed as a normal local package first.

07

Security & Reliability

How does Evoxup protect package downloads and updates?

The update architecture supports signed release metadata, SHA-256 integrity verification and protected delivery for eligible packages, alongside rollback and recovery controls in the Update Manager.

How does Evoxup prevent duplicate fulfillment?

Incoming commerce events are recorded and normalized so repeated provider events can be detected instead of granting the same membership or license multiple times.

Are provider credentials shown again after I save them?

Sensitive integration credentials should remain protected and be presented in masked form rather than exposed back into the administration interface.

Does Evoxup run arbitrary PHP received from the Cloud?

No. The Cloud direction is based on explicit service contracts and allowlisted actions. Arbitrary remote PHP execution, eval and shell execution are outside the intended Cloud model.
